A catch-all feature that is enabled for a specific e-mailbox will permit you to receive emails that are sent to addresses that do not really exist. Otherwise put, if you deactivate an email address and somebody still sends an email to it, or to any misspelled address under the same domain name, you’ll receive the email in the catch-all mailbox. Using this feature means that you will no longer miss an email for any reason, which could be crucial in case you run some company, for example. Since you may start receiving junk emails, you can use the catch-all feature with anti-spam filters in order to receive only legitimate messages in your inbox. Just one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
If you host a domain name on our cloud web hosting platform and you have a shared hosting account, you’ll be able to activate the catch-all feature for any e-mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section offers quite a lot of functions, but it is amazingly simple to use, so creating a catch-all mailbox takes just one single mouse click. All the email addresses that you’ve set up will be shown in this section in alphabetical order and you will just have to click the "Catch-all" button pertaining to the respective email address. Our system will notify you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain name or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or choose another mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all option is just as simple and requires one more mouse click on the exact same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all email address can be configured with several mouse clicks in case you have a semi-dedicated plan with us. The semi-dedicated account will be managed through our in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to set up mailboxes using any domain name registered here. To activate the catch-all functionality for a specific mailbox, you will have to click on the icon with the same name, which will be on the right-hand side of each mailbox. Disabling this option can be accomplished in the exact same way and will not require more than one click either. In case a catch-all mailbox has already been activated for a particular domain, you’ll get a warning alert. The same goes if the mailbox that you’d like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never deactivate or alter anything automatically.
